Is there anything really /compelling/ about Vista? Obviously vista is an upgrade, but there doesn't seem much to go Wow about aside from aero. Most of the features they list are standard on other OS's. Aero is where the Wow factor is, and so if there is no aero there is no Wow. And the funny thing is that it's only

So, I'm suspecting that the hardware may not be up to the task of running either Vista, NAV or both. What do you guys think? If I bought the laptop (salary sacrifice through work) would dumping NAV improve things? Or would I be better off reformatting the disc and installing XP Pro? Would the Celeron be able to run

Is there anything really /compelling/ about Vista? Depends on who you ask. For me, there's no one single feature I gotta have, but taken together its new apps and look and security and mgmt tools and D3D10 make it a worthy upgrade - though if I hadn't obtained it for the time-cost of watching 3 webcasts,

My findings, based on plenty of pre-purchase research, is that you're going to have a hard time finding NEW hardware that doesn't have Vista 64 drivers. I would have left it that way, but I wanted to see what all the eye candy looked like--so I popped in an nVidia AGP card that met the requirements.
